SAFETY TUBE GAS SPRINGS
The safety tube gas spring is a special version of the standard gas spring with a half-tube assembled to the piston rod.
When the gas spring is in fully extended position, this half-tube tilts by a spring. In this position the gas spring can not be compressed, so the protection tube avoids failed gas spring to make any damage or accident.
It has a mechanical spring locking system in an extended position. The mechanical locking is done through the small ring located between the cylinder and the tube that covers the stem functioning as a safety system, to prevent the possible accidental closing by unforeseen forces such as wind.
